Regal China Specialties
The very first of the Regal China decanters to be created was the Ivory Ash Tray in 1955. Its beginning was not auspicious. Excess bourbon was on hand, taxes had to be paid on all stock on hand a a new “gimmick” was needed. The Ivory Ash Tray was carried into the conference room in a paper bag – and rather with reluctance – was exposed to the sight of the chairman of the board. It won’t sell he exclaimed, and promptly an 8-page resport was written listing all the reasons why it would not. But sell it did – and the decanters wer soon sold out.
